JEFF SAARIKKO

Reflecting on his almost 20 year career in the building industry, Jeffs journey started on the Gold Coast back in 2005 at the tender age of 14 where he took up an carpentry apprenticeship with his brother James and joined an industry that has been part of the Saarikko family for generations. 

 

2008 saw Jeff completing his apprenticeship & honing his craft which he did for the next few years while working for James. 

 

When a lull in the building industry hit the gold coast in 2011, Jeff traveled south of the border with a surfboard and travel backpack to the small mining town of Muswellbrook. It was here that Jeff met his future wife Jordan through mutual connections in the building industry… talk about building foundations! 

 

After 18 months in Muswellbrook, James decided to return home to the Gold Coast and Jeff felt it was time to take the leaps and venture out on his own as a sole trader, Mastercraft Carpentry. With Jordan by his side & his mates at the Muswellbrook Rams RLFC, Jeff called Muswellbrook home and started subcontracting with Builders in the Upper Hunter Region.  

 

By 2015, Jeff had established strong relationships with numerous builders throughout the Hunter Valley through a shared commitment to high quality workmanship and an old school work ethic. These relationships lead to increased work opportunities which is when Saarikko Constructions Pty Ltd was formed. 

 

In 2017 Jeff completed his Certificate IV in Building & Construction adn made the move to Newcastle as his work and reputation within the local building industry continued to grow. Over the following years, Jeff continued his work with numerous builders as a subcontractor & supervisor for many projects ranging from new builds to complex high-end renovations

 

Jeffs hard work and commitment to developing his trade saw him obtain his builders licence in early 2019 which was the kick start to a big year of growth for Saarikko Constructions expanding from a 2-man crew to a 6-man crew.  With a young,  dynamic and hardworking team established, a growing reputation in the Newcastle & Hunter region for high quality workmanship and every increasing opportunity presenting itself, It was then that the Lulamon Projects name started to become known around Newcastle. 

 

Outside of work, Jeff is a family man at heart who loves spending time with his wife Jordan & his two girls, Layla & Remi - They well and truly keep dad on his toes. Jeff is a rugby league lover and takes his hard working attitude onto the field with the Dudley Magpies! As a Gold Coast boy, Jeff loves to surf and you will often catch him at Newcastle beach having a cheeky dip at sunrise!
